The Inaugural Stakeholder Workshop brought Malaysia’s hydrogen industry together under one roof for the first time, with a clear focus on the concerns of industry stakeholders.
The workshop’s central finding was blunt: hydrogen remains expensive relative to fossil fuels. Participants converged on a “carrot and stick” approach — pairing incentives with obligations — to narrow the cost difference and accelerate the adoption of hydrogen against incumbent fuels.
That conclusion set the agenda for the engagements that followed: proposing concrete incentives to Government and building the case for a self-sustaining hydrogen economy.
